Apple's latest version Beta iOS 5 mobile OS and one of the advanced new features is a gesture interface that has same functionality as iPhone and iPad's hardware button. Accessibility settings has an assistive touch option and features a floating button on the screen, allows users to use touch gestures completely. That includes home screen, multitasking, adjusting the device volume. Some users feel difficulty while using hardware, now users will feel easy to use assistive touch. In future, apple has planned to replace assistive touch in place of hardware button. In beta version some gaps are there in assistive touch software could be predictable from beta release, possibilities to make & custom gesture for interface. Other part of interface appears to be working fine, now users can use assistive touch and can access four categories: Home, device and gestures and favorites.Home: - option does same, when users tap on home screen to view details of products. Device has many options like adjusting the volume of device, locking the screen, button can performs "shake" of the device and "rotate" to adjust the screen position. Favorites, users can access saved gestures as well as Pinch and swipe. Gesture option shows 3, 4, and 5. This can be used in iPad2 betas and same likely to be officially released in iOS 5. Users who have felt difficulties while using hardware button in previous iPhone model, will feel comfortable in using assistive touch here on.
It's hard to imagine without hardware button on iPhone and iPod, only apple can decide whether to eliminate hardware button and replace with assistive touch completely.
